Without further ado....MY top 15 breakup songs

Well I finally narrowed down my list and found all the necessary lyrics. I will list the top 15 below and as time goes by will post the lyrics seperately. This will keep the blog from getting overloaded with new posts all in one night. I was really hoping to find a way to post the song so you could hear it along with reading the lyrics but I haven't found a way to do so. If anyone has any advice before I start posting lyrics please feel free to comment. Now, onto the list. It was very difficult to narrow it down. Music has been very important to me in coping with breakups, especially this time. Its as if the songs put words to the feelings that I am not able to express. Some of the songs you just cry along with and some of them you scream along with. Both ways, it helps me to feel better (at least for a minute or two). I would like to clarify that number 13 is on the list despite the fact that the actual sound of the song irritates the crap out of me. I LOVE the lyrics though, so I have put it on my list. Hope you guys enjoy it! I apologize in advance, I have not put "I will survive" on the list. :-)

15.) Cold Day in July – Dixie Chicks

14.) Someday - Nickleback

13.) Lonely No More – Rob Thomas

12.) When I’m gone – 3 Doors Down

11.) Fallen - Sarah McLachlan

10.) Whatever you say – Martina McBride

9.) Torn – Natalie Imbruglia

8.) "When I Look To The Sky" - Train

7.) My Favorite Mistake – Sheryl Crowe

6.) How am I doin? – Dierks Bentley

5.) Since you been gone – Kelly Clarkson

4.) Have you ever – Brandy

3.) I can’t make you love me – Bonnie Rait

2.) Moving on – Rascall Flats

1.) What am I to you? – Norah Jones

I just posted my Unrequited Songs. I looked at all of your email suggestions but realized that they were more break up than unrequited songs. Glad to see them here. I agree with each song you chose. However, I would add Pink's "Just Like a Pill", Patsy Cline's "Crazy" and Staind's "It's Been a While" to your list because they definitely deal with heartbreak.

Cjristina - you are right they should be on the list but then it would be a top 20 list...good thing I didn't think of them :-)

Abrasivist - I have never heard of that song so that is why I left it out :-)

My favorite break up song is by Eamon and called "Fuck You" or something like that... it works best if you've been cheated on, so it isn't applicable to everyone. But I recommend you give it a listen though as it is quite amusing!

Thanks Annie, I'm in the mood to hear something like that today too! :-)

How about Nine Days' "257 Weeks?" That's good too. And why do some people feel the need to comment in a rude way on other's blogs? I'm glad you didn't sink to that person's level.

After reading a tiny portion of that rude guy's blog, I'm even more proud that you didn't sink to his level. It's an honor that he doesn't like your taste in music because his taste (and views on...well, basically everything) is questionable at best. And I'm trying not to sink to his ignorant level by saying what his taste and views are at worst...because they already seem "worst" to me.
