Thank you all for being so open minded and caring in regards to this subject.

Cjristina - I think the biggest step they could take in mental health research is in educating the public and taking the stigma out of being labled "mentally ill"

NYM - Throughout history there has always been that contingency of non believers "the earth is flat, there's no such thing as dinosaurs" blah blah blah. If everyone believed that way we would still be in the dark ages. Hopefully we will see public opinion shift in our lifetimes, however, unfortunately that is not likely. I would settle for eliminating Tom Cruise ;-) j/k

a.m. grif - thanks for stopping by. It is my pleasure to do my part in educating society. Mental health issues have traumatized people for too long, and I for one would be willing to do pretty much anything to help in changing that viewpoint.

Still figuring - so do I!Shan'Chellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11655874240520092616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11899217.post-1123137504068511602005-08-03T23:38:00.000-07:002005-08-03T23:38:00.000-07:00i like today`s quote.i like today`s quote.still_figuring_outhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03077181660656291204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11899217.post-1123074920339579322005-08-03T06:15:00.000-07:002005-08-03T06:15:00.000-07:00There's still an entire contingency out there that...There's still an entire contingency out there that doesn't believe in mental illness. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.NewYorkMomentshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18352113877701064150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11899217.post-1122965647053779462005-08-01T23:54:00.000-07:002005-08-01T23:54:00.000-07:00My Aunt Karen was diagnosed schizophrenic for abou...My Aunt Karen was diagnosed schizophrenic for about twenty years. Then they (doctors) changed their minds and said she was bi-polar. There is such a long way to go in mental health research. For all the progress we've made in medical science we're still in the dark ages when it comes to understanding the brain and how it functions in all capacities. Hopefully this will change soon.Cjristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12197280247445685318noreply@blogger.com
